What is About Town Moms?
About Town Moms takes you on historic neighborhood walks, private museum tours and cultural adventures with your child. Our tours educate you, bring variety to your week and introduce you to a great group of moms.

When are the tours?
Most tours are held on Tuesdays at 2 pm and Wednesdays at 11 am. Family tours are on the 2nd Saturday of the month. Check the schedule for specific times.

Where are the tours located?
Tours are located throughout the Richmond area and surrounding locations. Check the schedule for specific locations.

How do I register?
Registration is available online. When using a credit card, a secure form will be emailed to you for payment. Please make checks or money orders payable to About Town Tours. Our mailing address is P.O. Box 203, Hanover, VA 23069. A $25 fee will be charged for any returned checks.

What can I expect during a tour?
Due to the variety of venues, each tour will be a different experience. What you can expect from every tour is a baby-friendly environment and tours aimed at educating the mother.

What does "limited stroller access" mean?
Some museums have limited stroller access. For these tours you will have to hold your child for up to 30 minutes or you can opt to have your child watched by a professional tour leader/baby sitter.  All of our tour leaders have their own children and are trained in Infant First Aid and CPR.

How long are the tours?
Most tours range from 45 to 60 minutes with additional time for lunch and discussion.

What do I do if my baby gets fussy?
Your top priority is your baby. You can stop at any time to take care of your child. Maps will be provided during walking tours to allow you to catch up with the group.

Can Dads come to About Town Mom events?
Dads are welcome to attend all About Town events including weekday events, family tours, night and member events. 

What about parking in the city?
About Town Moms will make every effort to help with parking in the city but we will not be held responsible for parking tickets or towed cars. Please read the signs when parking in Richmond.

Are tours cancelled during inclement weather?
Only historic neighborhood walking tours will be cancelled due to inclement weather. Please telephone 804-218-6265 one hour prior to the tour for any updates.

What is your refund policy?
For any tour requiring advance registration, you may cancel your reservation for any reason up to 2 weeks prior to the tour and receive tour credit.  Within 2 weeks no refunds (or tour credit) will be issued.  If for some reason, About Town Tours needs to cancel the tour, you will receive tour credit to be used on another tour within three months. Cash refunds will not be issued.
